Ganglion cysts

 








Ganglion cysts are lumps that most often appear along the tendons or joints of wrists or hands. They also can occur in ankles and feet. Ganglion cysts are typically round or oval and are filled with a jellylike fluid. They are not cancer. Small ganglion cysts can be pea-sized.

Treatment for a ganglion cystTreatment is usually only recommended if the cyst causes pain or affects the range of movement in a joint. The 2 main treatment options for a ganglion cyst are: draining fluid out of the cyst with a needle and syringe (aspiration) cutting the cyst out using surgery.
